So you’ve been to the best caravan dealers in Yorkshire, Albion Caravans (http://www.albioncaravans.co.uk/), you’ve looked through all the used caravans we have for sale and chosen the perfect one for you, now all you have to do is kit it out with all the gear. Most of the caravans we sell come fully equipped with the basics so that they are ready to be driven or towed away and enjoyed, but there are some extras that you’ll want to get your hands on to make the most out of caravanning – here are a few of those caravan essentials.
A torch
It might not be an expensive piece of kit, but only one trip away in your caravan without a torch is all it takes to never forget one again! From badly lit campsites and dark country lanes to trying to find your way around the caravan at night, torches really are vital and should even be seen as a security item.
A solar charger
This is one of the more recent additions we’ve seen become popular here at the home of second hand caravans Albion Caravans. A solar charger allows you to charge up your phone, iPod dock, laptop, etc, without any electricity, depending solely on solar power. Unfortunately for those of you caravanning in Great Britain, sunshine is not included and certainly not a given!
A barbecue
Surprisingly people forget to pack a barbecue, but having a barby outside of your caravan in good weather is one of the joys of caravanning! Small, portable barbecues are now available at good prices, offering far more value than repeatedly buying disposable barbecues. However small your barbecue may be, never ever use it inside your caravan or even under an awning, and always ensure it’s kept outside long after you’ve used it to cool down and diffuse the last of the heat and chemicals before packing it away.
Blankets, towels and tea towels
Another simple one, but essential none the less. Blankets are great for those chilly evenings when you still want to enjoy the outdoors, whether to eat al fresco or star gaze, while towels are handy in case you take advantage of a campsite pool, the sea or even if you’re caught in a downpour while out and about. And tea towels, well you just can’t get enough of those if you want to keep your kitchen area clean and tidy.
Bottle opener and corkscrew!
There can be nothing more frustrating than looking forward to a beer or glass of wine at the end of a long enjoyable day spent in your caravan than to realise your bottle opener is safely in your kitchen drawer...at home! You’ll never have to struggle to open a bottle of beer with a lighter or push the cork into a bottle of wine again if you pop a bottle opener and corkscrew in your caravan.
Those are just some of the things that we think are essential (over and above all the basics of bedding, kitchen kit, water and petrol of course!) which we think make caravanning a more enjoyable experience, but what are yours?
