As voltage optimisation (V.O.) experts, it comes as no surprise that EcoAdapt (http://www.ecoadapt.co.uk) have long been proponents of companies using V.O. to reduce carbon emissions and cut their electricity bills. Now, a pan-European campaign will urge EU companies to focus the climate change debate on emission-reducing solutions such as V.O.
The campaign, dubbed “A world you like. With a climate you like”, is backed by EU Climate Commissioner Connie Hedegaard and Energy and Climate Change Secretary Ed Davey and seeks to encourage companies across Europe to leverage cost-efficient low carbon solutions in all areas of their business, solutions which include energy saving technology such as voltage regulation. The initiative wants businesses to highlight practical examples of how acting on climate change not only helps the planet but also benefits the economy.
Connie Hedegaard, speaking at the campaign launch in London on 9th October, 2012, explained the aim is to focus the climate change debate in a new area: solutions which reduce carbon emissions. "We have a choice: we can act on our knowledge about climate change. Or we can sit idly by and watch as things get worse. Both options come with a price tag. So why not create a world we like, with a climate we like – while we still have time?". Ed Davey made the UK government’s stance clear in a statement: “By working closely together, the EU and UK form a formidable partnership that can bring about real change. I support [Commissioner Hedegaard's] strategy of engaging with businesses – big and small – as they are and will be a crucial player in the long-term change we need to bring about."
Over 70 organisations have already signed up to the “A world you like. With a climate you like” initiative, including the UK’s Department of Energy and Climate Change itself. The campaign will run until the end of 2013, with many more businesses across Europe set to join and discover the benefits of emission-reducing solutions such as voltage optimisation while helping to tackle climate change.
